Zach and Kelly’s Sheraton Station Wedding

Zack and Kelly were married on June 9th, with a ceremony at Our Lady of the Angels and a reception at Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square.

Zack proposed to Kelly one night while they were on vacation in Punta Cana with Kelly’s family. They were having dinner at the beach with the whole family and walked down to the edge of the water to take a picture. All of a sudden, Zach got down on one knee—to all sorts of applause and congratulations from plenty of other guests at dinner who had noticed what was happening! The live band played “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, and they were served champagne when they got back.

On the day of the wedding, I started out with the ladies while my second shooter and associate photographer, Lizzy, was with the guys. They were getting ready at Kelly and Zach’s super awesome apartment complex, which made for some great pictures thanks to its modern and industrial feel!

While the complex was modern, the church where they were married felt so historic and beautiful. It’s the kind of wedding venue that makes you feel like you’re part of a fairytale or a tale of royalty. And the whole time, we were surrounded by an atmosphere of warmth and excitement from every one of the guests, who were thrilled to see Zack and Kelly get married!

After the ceremony, I was able to steal these two away to get some nighttime photos. These are always some of my favorites from my weddings—especially because it’s a time when my couples can get away from the hustle and bustle as well. And Zack and Kelly agreed—they both said that their favorite images came from that shoot!

Kelly & Zack, thank you for asking me to be part of your amazing wedding. I hope that you had a blast honeymooning in Rome and Greece!

Stephen & Jen’s Armstrong Farms Wedding

Stephen and Jen were married on June 2^nd 2018, with a ceremony and reception at the Fieldstone Barn at Armstrong Farms.

These two have had to make it work in a long-distance relationship for a couple of years now, but that seems to have only made their love stronger. Stephen lived in Kansas, and Jen is from Pittsburgh, so they’ve had to get creative about spending time together. But that means the proposal was a wonderful surprise for Jen when he came up to visit for the summer and cleared out her student apartment to set it up with candles and Italian wine!

Now, they were excited to close the gap after being apart for two years, and that excitement definitely showed through in every image I was able to take of them. My second shooter and associate photographer, Lizzy, and I had a blast watching these two laugh together. You can’t beat this kind of pure joy.

It was also so fun to work with them on the sunset and nighttime photos. I always love getting my couples framed in the fading light or with the stars coming out as a perfect backdrop, and these two were no exception.

Jen & Stephen, thank you for asking me to be a part of your joy and happiness. I hope that you had fun in Mexico and Peru on your honeymoon—and I’m sure that you’re already taking the world by storm together!
