Scott and Jessica’s University Club Wedding

Scott and Jessica were married on September 22 with a ceremony at Heinz Chapel and a gorgeous reception at the Pitt University Club. It was so much fun to be their wedding photographer. Their wedding day was truly a day to remember.

Scott and Jessica’s Pitt Love Story

This bride and groom’s love story takes them all the way back to 2009 when they were freshmen in college. Jessica was on a weekend trip visiting friends at Pitt. The very first night they met, Scott actually told his friend Jason that he knew he would marry Jessica. The two started dating, and Jessica ended up transferring to Pitt for Nursing School in 2010. They’ve made it through college, a time where they dated long distance and then back to Pittsburgh. Scott proposed in February, 2017 right in their apartment when Jessica came home from work one night. Then, the next day he surprised her again with a helicopter ride all over Pittsburgh. What a romantic gesture, to share such an amazing experience above the city that hosted their love story!

A Breathtaking University Club Wedding

Everything about this wedding was easy and fun. Jessica and Scott had it all planned out to flow smoothly, and everything went like clockwork. We even had a few extra moments to do some fun wedding portraits in Heinz Chapel — one of my personal favorite wedding ceremony spots! (Who doesn’t love old stone architecture?!) It was also so convenient that we were able to walk everywhere. We even called for the Pitt transportation bus that took us over to Heinz Chapel – it was perfect!

And speaking of perfect, The University Club is such a breathtaking Pittsburgh wedding venue. During the reception, we ran outside on the balcony (where the couple had cocktail hour!) to get some gorgeous photos as Scott and Jessica enjoyed their first sunset as husband and wife. We even made sure to get the Cathedral of Learning in the background of their wedding photos!

Haley and Fred’s Rainy Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding

Fred and Haley were married on September ninth in a brunch wedding at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens. It was such a pleasure to be their wedding photographer for their beautiful wedding day!

This gorgeous autumn wedding was actually a brunch wedding. In all my years as a wedding photographer, I’ve only photographed one other brunch wedding before! I have to say, brunch weddings are my new favorite thing. The staff over at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens REALLY knocked it out of the park. You can see why if you look at the photos of the food!

This weekend was also one of INCREDIBLE rain. Like, sideways rain where you couldn’t see. It was unbelievable. While this threw a bit of a wrench in the outdoor wedding plans, the ceremony was moved inside to a stunning tent and all was well.

It also helps that Fred and Haley were up for anything. This bride and groom followed my crazy self into the rain with an umbrella. And we might have gotten a little bit wet, but I personally think it was worth it. Their rainy wedding portraits are amongst my favorite rain photos! The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and the day was so much fun.

Fred and Haley also had their puppy in the wedding! He was the softest, most adorable pup ever! I love when couples include their pets in their wedding day. After all, they’re all one big family now!

Haley and Fred, thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer. Despite the rain, your wedding day was such a fun event. I wish you both (and your puppy) all the best in your new life together.
