Haley and Fred’s Rainy Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding

Fred and Haley were married on September ninth in a brunch wedding at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens. It was such a pleasure to be their wedding photographer for their beautiful wedding day!

This gorgeous autumn wedding was actually a brunch wedding. In all my years as a wedding photographer, I’ve only photographed one other brunch wedding before! I have to say, brunch weddings are my new favorite thing. The staff over at the Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens REALLY knocked it out of the park. You can see why if you look at the photos of the food!

This weekend was also one of INCREDIBLE rain. Like, sideways rain where you couldn’t see. It was unbelievable. While this threw a bit of a wrench in the outdoor wedding plans, the ceremony was moved inside to a stunning tent and all was well.

It also helps that Fred and Haley were up for anything. This bride and groom followed my crazy self into the rain with an umbrella. And we might have gotten a little bit wet, but I personally think it was worth it. Their rainy wedding portraits are amongst my favorite rain photos! The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and the day was so much fun.

Fred and Haley also had their puppy in the wedding! He was the softest, most adorable pup ever! I love when couples include their pets in their wedding day. After all, they’re all one big family now!

Haley and Fred, thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer. Despite the rain, your wedding day was such a fun event. I wish you both (and your puppy) all the best in your new life together.

Angie & Kory’s Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Wedding

Angie and Kory got married in an October Wedding at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. It was a classy and sophisticated affair. The venue, the decorations, the couple and everything else was so elegant. I had a great time photographing this wedding.

Angie & Kory’s Rivers Casino Wedding

Rivers Casino is a classy venue with banquet halls spaced according to the number of guests. Lesser guests — smaller halls, but if you have a huge guest list, they can be more than accommodating. The Rivers Casino banquet hall has a pre-function room to greet guests and a customizable floor plan that can accommodate parties of 80 to 900 guests for seated servings. Exclusivity is another name for this wedding venue. At the Rivers Casino, they have an outdoor balcony with views of the three rivers as they join at Point State Park and an unbeatable panoramic view of the Pittsburgh skyline.

I had a great time taking some pictures along the river with Angie and Kory. I photographed Angie’s stylish footwear, her chandelier earpieces, her beautiful glittering wedding ring and her wonderful bridal couture. Kory was dressed up in a black suit for his Rivers Casino wedding, with a cream-colored bow and pocket square. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen teamed up in black.

I photographed the couple with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. I took a few family portraits and enjoyed capturing the decorations at the Rivers Casino wedding hall. There was this great table set up with the wedding photos of Angie and Kory’s parents and grandparents — it was so sweet! Gretchen at Fields of Heather did a marvelous job at floral decorations of the banquet.

I loved the photos I took of Angie and Kory with fairy lights around them. The mesmerizing Pittsburgh skyline along with the lights created a lovely image. I also used a little bokeh for effect, and I thought it was a nice touch. It was raining a bit, so getting them standing under an umbrella was a must! Umbrella shots always make for wonderful photos, which is why you should never fear rain on your wedding day. I also enjoyed making use of the beautiful hanging lightshade at the Rivers Casino banquet hall for some breath-taking photographs.

Having their wedding at the Rivers Casino surely made it memorable for Angie and Kory as there were tons of great photo spots available.
