Jon & Danielle’s Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Wedding

On September 29^th, Danielle and Jon were married in a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. The day was simply amazing. In my years as a wedding photographer, I have seen a lot of weddings, but Jon and Danielle truly made the day all their own. Their wedding was stunning and untraditional for all the best reasons. I was so happy to be there to photograph their Pittsburgh Botanic Garden wedding.

A Sweet Surprise Engagement

After seven years of dating, Jon and Danielle decided the time was right to begin talking about marriage. Wanting to surprise his girlfriend, Jon enlisted his sister Becca to help purchase the ring. Jon invited Danielle to one of their favorite activities, walking around the Highland Park reservoir. Danielle was immediately suspicious due to Jon’s excited demeanor. Worried that the gig was up, Jon immediately proposed at the end of their walk. She said yes!

A Unique Botanic Gardens Wedding

Weddings at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden are all beautiful with the lush greenery and abundant florals. But Danielle and Jon had a simply beautiful day. I loved the color scheme that they picked for their florals and Red Punch Design really knocked it out of the park. Danielle wore a floral crown made with brightly colored blooms that made her look like she’d stepped right out of a storybook. The bright and vibrant colors were carried throughout their wedding décor making the whole day filled with brightness. The result was truly breathtaking.

But truly, what shined the brightest on this September wedding day were the smiles of the bride and groom. These two are just so happy together. You could see how much they adore one another in every smile, every laugh, and every look. It was easy to capture their love in their wedding photos because there was just so much love infused in every moment.

Thank you, Jon and Danielle. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special and unique wedding day. I hope that your love continues to make your smiles as bright as your wedding colors for many years to come.

Katie & Zac’s Wedding | The Chadwick

This past May, I was lucky enough to be the wedding photographer for Katie and Zac’s beautiful wedding ceremony at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with a reception at the Chadwick in Wexford, PA. This couple was just so much fun to photograph and I had a blast being a part of their wedding day!

It was a beautiful spring day for Katie and Zac’s wedding. The day began with the bride and groom getting ready separately at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Chicora. I loved how the springtime sunlight streamed into the windows as Katie got ready. The light was bright, but nothing outshone Katie’s smile. She looked stunning as she prepared for her wedding day! After some sentimental getting ready photographs with her parents and her bridesmaids, it was time for the wedding ceremony.

The congregation was filled with love as Zac and Katie were wed. I loved the smiles and the excitement on everyone’s faces all throughout their wedding service. After they were announced as husband and wife, I stole Katie and Zac away for some formal wedding portraits in the church and then some outside on the road. Some of my favorite portraits are of the bride and groom out in the grassy field with a big wide expanse of springtime blue sky!

The Chadwick provided the perfect backdrop for Katie and Zac’s wedding reception. I love how they made sure to insert their own personalized touches to the reception decorations. Katie shared, “Zac proposed with a rubber duck from Duck donuts in VA Beach while we were on vacation. He didn’t have a ring, but I didn’t care. I knew I wanted to spend my life with him.” To honor that moment, Katie and Zac carried that rubber duck theme through their reception! I thought that the cake topper was especially adorable.

When I asked the bride and groom what advice they would share with other Pennsylvania couples planning a wedding, they shared: “This day is about you and your spouse. Take time to enjoy each other during the day. Don’t stress over small details. Don’t worry if something goes wrong, no one will ever know.”

Katie and Zac, I loved being your wedding photographer. Your Chadwick wedding was so full of love and happiness that it was such a pleasure to photograph. Thank you for asking me to be a part of your wedding day!
